Convolute wheels contain 3 dimension non-woven web and abrasive
mineral in a wrapped construction. The layers are wrapped around the wheel to give it a sturdy design
for finishing and deburring applications.
The wrapped construction forces users to run convolute wheels in
one direction that is marked on the wheel. If the wheel is run
against the designed direction it will unravel and become unusable.
The more layers that are wrapped around the higher the density
rating. The higher the density rating the longer the wheel will
last, but the less conformable it is. The lower the density rating
the more conformable the wheel, but that comes with shorter
Grade for grade convolute wheels are softer, more conformable, and
leave a finer finish than unitized wheels.

- Garnet is a natural abrasive mineral that is blocky in shape and wears
down easily. It works great for woodworking applications and leaves
a much smoother finish than aluminum oxide grade for grade.
- Woodworking wheels are made with an open web construction to resist loading .
The soft, spongy design is very responsive to minimize gouging.
